Three Steps to a Perfect Website
Step One: Compile a Project
Specification Document
Step One generally begins with an intial meeting to discuss
the functionality and look and feel of the propoosed site.
The meeting is structured to produce a detailed Project
Specification Document which details the projects deliverables
and associasted costs.
The document can go
through a number of reviews and amendments until the client
is happy and agrees sign off.
Follwing recipt of a signed Project
Specification Document, HitechDesign will register / transfer
any website Domain Name(s) and arrange website hosting.
We will then setup a "holding Page" and may
provide the client with credentials to access a secure
project area on our servers where it is possible to follow
the website development process.
Step Two: Prototyping /
Design Selection
A set of different prototypes or website designs are produced
for review with the client. These are intended to define
the 'look and feel' of the site.
A website is a very personal matter and individual preferences
vary hugely from client to client. The initial set of
prototypes / design selections are intended to identify
a set of features which may then be refined into an acceptable
design. Obviously, every client varies here - some have
a very clear idea about how their site should look, whilst
others have a total blank sheet and are open to a broad
range of designs. Two rounds of prototyping / design amendments
are costed for, which is generally adequate for most clients.
Stage Three: Build and Review
When a prototype or design has been agreed by a client,
the website is cronstructed and thoroughly tested. Basic
Key Words and Meta Data are added to optimise the website
for search engines and a final hand-over document is generated.
Following the sites construction and final testing, the
website will enter the hand-over stage. Once the clients
approval and full paymant has been received, the website
will be associated with the clients Domain Name and the
site is available to users of the Internet.
